Famous Entrepreneur Series Presents Vijay Govindarajan

The Metropolitan Development Association’s (MDA) MDA Essentials reports that Vijay Govindarajan is the third speaker in the 2009-2010 Famous Entrepreneurs Series (FES) season. Vijay Govindarajan is the author of “Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators” and spoke on March 24 at 5:00 p.m. at Onondaga Community College. The MDA is a sponsor of FES, a lecture series supported by the membership of local businesses that promotes entrepreneurship in the community.

Business leader: Companies must embrace innovation to stay ahead of their competitors

The Post-Standard reports that Tom Kelley, founder and GM of IDEO spoke on Tuesday at The Famous Entrepreneurs Series, held at Onondaga Community College. Kelley's lecture focused on innovation and a few key strategies - or faces - from his book "The Ten Faces of Innovation." He urged the audience to “get away from their desks” to see what people want - and then design their business to serve that market. IDEO calls it “vuja de,” which is a twist on the French expression déjà vu or already seen, where you see the same things you have always seen, but through “new eyes.”
